What web browsers does Scholastica support?

Scholastica isn't compatible with older web browsers. In order to use Scholastica you must upgrade to a newer browser.

Upgrading your browser to a more modern version increases your security, makes your browsing experience faster, and allows you to take advantage of features that we as web developers can provide to give you an amazing experience.

Why isn't my browser supported?

Like many major web websites including Google, Scholastica does not support older browsers that cannot use the many new improvements and technologies which are necessary to provide a fast, excellent user experience.

Here is a detailed breakdown of exactly which browsers (and versions) are supported:

Browser Support status by version
FireFox
  • >= 40 – Fully supported.
  • < 40 – Unsupported. Users will be redirected and prompted to upgrade their browser.
Microsoft Edge
  • 12-18, Edge 75 — Fully supported.
Google Chrome
  • >=41 — Fully supported.
  • < 41  Unsupported. Users will be redirected and prompted to upgrade their browser.
Safari
  • >= 9.0 – Fully supported.
  • < 9.0 – Unsupported. Users will be able to view the site but may experience problems.

I do not have authorization to download a new browser, what should I do? 

Good news! If you are currently working on a Windows 10 Operating System, it is very likely that you have Edge already installed on your computer. Windows devices almost always have both — and Scholastica supports every version of Edge.

If you do not have access to Edge and you cannot download a new browser then you must use a different computer in order to login to your Scholastica account. If you are attempting to submit a manuscript, you can use your mobile browser in order to do so.

Steps to login to your account if Internet Explorer is your default browser:

1. Open one the browsers that Scholastica supports (see above for full list)
2. Go to https://app.scholasticahq.com/login
3. Enter your email address
4. Type in your password 
5. Click Login

Note: If Internet Explorer (IE) is currently your default browser be aware that the links you click on may attempt to open in IE. You don't have to change your default browser in order to use Scholastica, but you have to be sure that you are in one of the browsers that we support (see above) when you login to your account and open links.
